SUMMARY:HM101 – Hermeneutics
DESCRIPTION:Hermeneutics is the branch of Christian theology that deals with the interpretation of the Bible. This course will discuss the importance of context\, historical setting\, geography\, figures of speech and biblical poetry. It will differentiate between drawing out the intended meaning of a passage (exegesis) versus reading into a passage a meaning that is not there (eisegesis). In the end\, students would be familiar with the important principles that must be followed to interpret\, understand and apply God’s word\, correctly. They will also be better equipped to preach and teach the word with greater confidence and relevance.

Students will study church planting strategies\, cross-cultural communication\, and how to effectively share the Gospel in diverse cultural contexts. Emphasis will be placed on understanding cultural dynamics\, learning cross-cultural communication skills\, and overcoming challenges when ministering in multicultural environments. It covers biblical foundations of mission work\, cross-cultural ministry\, church growth principles\, and strategies for planting and sustaining churches.\nIt will also prepare students to plant churches and engage in mission work that respects and adapts to cultural differences while maintaining biblical truth and integrity.
